Limavady Suffolk Stud was started in 1981, by Michael Simpson at Limavady Farm in North Otago. In 2000 the flock was withdrawn and in 2016 Emma ( Michael's Daughter) re-instated the stud with ewes from Phoebe Stud and Ewes and Ewe Lambs from Tawhai Stud.

 Limavady Suffolks are now based in Broomfield , 15 minutes inland from Amberley. Our aim currently is on breeding a line of suffolks with the emphasis on;

 - A true to type Suffolk with good colour.

- High growth rates, and meat yield

- Ewes that lamb easily, and have good mothering ability.

- sound conformation with plenty of meat on the carcass.

-longevity

With these attributes in our ewes we will be able to provide Rams to commercial farmers that breed fast growing terminal lambs, that are born easily, and the Rams themselves stay sound and last.

Over the next few year we intend on bringing in more bloodlines through selected stud sires and stud ewes to bring our stud ewes up to around 70 head.

For more information about our suffolks please don't hesitate to contact us, or visit our website www.manahune.co.nz

Our Limavady Suffolk Hoggets are run along side our white dorper stud.
